At Manor Barn, we have always believed that the environment plays a vital role in wellbeing and nowhere is this more true than in the care of those living with dementia.
That’s why we are delighted to introduce our brand new dementia wing, thoughtfully and lovingly developed with our residents in mind.
For those living with dementia, familiarity and gentle stimulation can make an enormous difference to their quality of life. Our new wing has been carefully built to meet these needs, particularly for residents who wander or benefit from sensory engagement.
At the centre of the wing is a dedicated sensory area, offering a calm, curated space where residents can experience comforting sights, sounds and textures that are soothing and reassuring. It’s an area of the home where residents living with dementia can sit with carers or alongside other residents and feel more settled in themselves. We also have an immersive corridor, filled with meaningful details chosen to foster recognition, encourage interaction and provide a sense of purpose throughout the day.

From the colours on the walls to the features along the corridor, every element has been selected to help our residents with dementia feel truly at home.
